I don't know about the name "Florida Cracker" - but I do know, their burgers are indeed belly filling! I had a 1/4LB burger with avocado and it filled me right up! My son had a fish sandwich and it filled him up! With the help of fries on the side! I would suggest this place to anyone visiting St. Augustine and walking through St. George St.
I come here every year for one thing and one thing only and that is their New England Clam Chowder! The absolute very best I have ever had, and I've had a lot of chowder all over the country. The tarragon and thyme that flavors this chowder puts it over the top. They have other wonderful things on the menu but I get the Chowder every time. It is a spoonful of Ahhhhhhh!!!! The house salad is also very good. It is a huge bowl of leafy greens, mandarin oranges, tomatoes, red onions, carrots, cucumbers and sliced apples, with a sesame seed dressing. If you ever get to St. Augustine FL this restaurant is a must.

Good service, good food, on the ball with drink refills. Eat inside in the A/C or out on the patio. Enjoyed the gator bits and the Super Cracker burger though I would recommend adding mayo.

After walking around all day, this was a really good place to eat. We ordered the Philly cheese and enjoyed thoroughly. If we lived here, this would definitely be a family favorite.

one word:AMAZING! I will be returning to this restaurant!! Great service, the food was perfect!! I recommend the fried shrimp, and the lobster ball for appetizer. So yummy, and I'm really picky about food. Staff was friendly and food came out really quick. I was pleased that we were seated right away inside, because it was a very hot and humid day. :)

Don't waste your time or money here. Food us just okay, and short on options. Service is good, but not what we expected.

Typical American cuisine here. They have a nice little outdoor area, but on the day we went, it was a bit too chilly for us Miami folks. The house salad is yummy minus the dressing.. Ask for oil and vinegar instead. Nice and yummy decent food.

Nothing special at this place. The service was quick and the waitress was nice too. The food was ok ( only one or two vegetarian options). The hot sauce here had anchovies in it. The waitress failed to mention it even though we said we wanted to get something vegan.

Stopped here while in the historic district because they had a dog friendly dining area. Food was ok bit not anything special. Had the gator tail appetizer which was ok bit overwhelmed with too much pepper. Tried the special of the day, catfish po'boy. Nothing exceptional & fish was a bit mushy. Also tried the fried oysters which were not that good. Again very mushy. Also tried the key lime pie for dessert & was mediocre. Service was friendly & fast.

Great place. Right in old city area within walking distance of everything. Great dog friendly patio. Food was fresh and prompt and husband reports the oysters were great and the local ale was too. And the waiter knew something about beer as well. My wrap was perfect and I want the recipe for the beans.

One star...because no star isn't an option. The waiter was great..great service from her. But the food is horrible. We got the ny strip and Angus sirloin...not that we expected great steak..but it was COLD. We sent it back..reheated the same piece of meat and it came back warm...somewhat tolerable. We ate what we could and moved on! There is many other better places, I'm sure other appetizers are ok based on what others ordered. Would never go back.

The food here was just ok. If your looking for a quick lunch place and not looking for anything too unique then it's a good place to stop. I got a sangria for a drink and it was ok but ultimately not worth the price. My salad was huge and fresh for the most part. My favorite part was the avocado dressing, definitely made the salad better. My friend got a burger that she was good but not special by any means. I'd probably not go here again just bc there are so many interesting other finds in the area.

Nice but slow service, they stay busy. And the table was dirty. But the food was good, fried tomatoes delicious. I recommend for lunch but not dinner.

We live in Jax, and visited with family who has dietary restrictions. Got the burger for one who cannot have marinated/seasoned to hell foods, it was perfect! As was the salad! The French fries and grilled cheese were "the best I have ever had! The fries are so crispy!" That from a 12 year old who eats them a lot. The gator tail-so tender! Shrimp Po boy-fantastic, as were kids fried shrimp. Pasta salad was so good! Will be back there often now! And outside in 100 degree weather was still nice in the shade under fans. Great service.

Hubby and I each had a really good Angus burger (half pound patty) smothered in mushrooms and sweet grilled onion, swiss and cheddar, tomatoes and lettuce. ..Comes with pasta salad and your choice of sides. We opted for the fries which were very good, hot and crispy. Service was excellent and the food was delivered to our table fast and hot. The burgers were cooked perfectly. We'll be back!
(4)

Do not get any of the burgers. They are not fresh. They are the fast food thin kind you can get at Walmart. They are 1/3lb Angus so you think they are thick but they are just frisbee size. The waitress was nice and visited the table often so I have no complaints about the staff.

Walk right past the Savannah Sweets candy shop with your hands forming blinders for your eyes and continue into the Florida Cracker Cafe. We suggest you order the Minorcan clam chowder with the hot datil peppers, the conch (say "conk") fritters which come with a cocktail sauce, the fried green tomatoes with the remoulade sauce and the Florida Cracker Oyster poorboy (say "po'boy") cut in half for you and your significant other (say " girlfriend "). Now that you're sauced, pay the bill, leave a tip for the excellent service and you can go into the Savannah Sweets shop and get a bag of Black Licorice Wheels. They really are made in Savannah!

Ive eaten here many times, but its been a few years since i moved to Jax..this visit was sooo good! The fried green tomatoes were crisp, slightly spicy and really just perfect! The fried shrimp are butterflied like i like and the pink sauce is a nice change from regular tartar sauce! The sides were well seasoned and also, different than fries & veggies. The food has greatly improved since my previous experiences! Yummmmm!!

The gator appetizer was really good, especially with the marmalade sauce. Shrimp and grits was good, stuffed flouder special was very good. Service was great. All in all, a very good dining experience. Would return without hesitation.

Food was delicious & service was decent. The gator tail is amazing, only thing I didn't like was how small the portion of gator was . Will be returning my next trip to St. Augustine.

Do not go to this place. The pasta salad that came with the meal was dry and had no flavor, the club sandwich I ordered was small and thrown together. The burger my boyfriend had was lukewarm and the cheese was cold. The fries were old (it was busy too!) this place is successful because it relies on unsuspecting tourists looking for a bite to eat. Pay attention to Yelp reviews... It doesn't generally lie...

Fair, not great. Two of us had the same dish, but they looked and tasted different, as if one was old and reheated and the other was fresh. The offending entree was replaced with a blackened chicken sandwich which was also only mediocre. Service was minimal, and we had to ask for refills, napkins, and the check. With so many places to eat nearby, I can't imagine wanting to ever return to this spot that's memorable only because of its low standards.
I ordered the gator appetizer and Mahi Mahi wrap. I have frequently ordered both fresh Mahi Mahi and gator at various restaurants throughout Florida. I would rate theirs as below standard. The gator and the Mahi were very dry and did not taste fresh. The gator came out very fast which made me wonder how it was cooked so fast. After eating it, i now know why. As for the fish, it tasted like dry old tuna. Gator and Mahi, when cooked fresh, is delicious. Eat there if you don't know any better.

Ever wish you had a burger that tasted as good as it smelled while it was grilling? Well you can finally get it-it's here at the Cracker Cafe! So juicy you have to lean over your plate to keep from wearing it and almost more than you can eat. The staff is awesome and the place is a true haven from the heat and bustle of Old Town (not that I don't love it). Don't leave the inner city without stopping in. Even if you don't like burgers there's plenty to choose from-even for the vegans!

Me and my wife ordered the spinach salad with grilled shrimp I did not realize My salad was loaded with a whole carrot and I had to pull the tails off my shrimp by myself after digging through my salad to find them all
(3)
Elisse B.
The alligator and conch appetizers were good but the fish sandwich had no flavor and neither did the pasta salad nor the cucumber salad that came with it. The key lime pie was also not the greatest and the cool whip topping really ruined it for me. The servers seemed nice enough though.

Nothing really to write home about. I was interest to try this place but the Shrimp Po'Boy only had a hand full of shrimp and the pasta salad was a little on the dry side for my taste. Service was good and prompt.

Came here by advice of my friend. Cafe looks good and location is right in downtown, but that was all good thing I can tell about that place. We order gator tail and fish and burger. We wait our 25 min. And our server bring us fish and burger first. Then we ask where our gator tails, she tell that she will go to kitchen to check it. Then she back she told us that they forgot it and what we wish? Hold it on or cancel. We tell her, what we want to cancel it. When she say, that kitchen is already start cooking it, so we forced to order it. And then its finally arrived she put the plate right on the postcards I had on table. Thank God there weren't any mark left. Worst place in terms of service I ever been in Florida!!

Sorry no photo, had the crab cakes. If you get anything with crab make sure to ask for the Cajun remoulade sauce. And the homemade chips were nice too.

Florida Cracker Cafe is one of those restaurants in downtown St. Augustine that you always walk past and think about eating at, but it's generally surrounded by delicious local joints that just seem to outshine it. I'm sure FCC thrives on the tourist business, but my visit was pretty good. After a New Year's Eve of drinking and dancing in downtown SA, some friends joined my wife and I for a hangover busting meal here. I was in the mood for something greasy and filling, so I went for the fried fish sandwich, the wife a grilled cheese, and my friends juicy hamburgers. Service here was good- the waitress was very friendly, out drinks were always full, and the order was taken correctly and delivered piping hot. My fish sandwich was very, very tasty, and it was very, very filling. They didn't mess around with the size of my fish- and it was fried up just right. Golden brown, flaky, and hot- delicious with some tartar sauce, lettuce and tomato. The wife LOVED her grilled cheese. My friends devoured their burgers. They looked very delicious- nothing gourmet or fancy, just some hot grilled beef served with melted cheese and toppings. We all left feeling much better and ready to face the day. Overall- FCC is a good place to eat. There are a lot better restaurants in the area, but this place has good service, the food is good, and the price is right. Definitely would recommend stopping in for a quick bite if your walking St. George street or in the downtown area if you're looking for good food at a good price that will tide you over until dinner.

Food wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't go back. I got the Coconut shrimp, homemade chips, and cucumber salad. The coconut shrimp was overbreaded and the orange marmalade sauce had to be straight up orange marmalade from a jar- it was extremely thick. It wasn't a dipping sauce. Homemade chips were very crunchy and tasted over fried or baked. The cucumber salad was composed of cucumbers that were rather limp and the sauce was mediocre. I didn't feel like the food was worth the money.

Based on the informal ambiance when I first came in, I figured this place would have a menu full of burgers and not much else, but my brother ordered steak and I ordered coconut shrimp, and both were really good. I had a couple bites of the steak, and that was the most impressive of the two dishes. Really really flavorful, cooked perfectly, and wonderfully tender! The service was fine, but not exceptional. I was very disappointed in the almost complete lack of vegetables on the menu (the veggies of the day were lima beans and potato salad ... really?), and the side salad was pretty much just iceberg lettuce with some dressing, but I think that's pretty common at restaurants in this area. I would definitely go there again, but maybe I would smuggle in some carrots in my purse to accompany my entree.

This is a nice little cafe right on St. George - the walking, shopping and dining street in St. Augustine. It is "seat yourself" in a bit of a hardscrabble (i.e., "cracker") wood floored and bare tabled atmosphere. The service was excellent and public (clean) restrooms were just outside the back door. We had the red beans & rice appetizer as a entree and the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich - the former being good and the latter excellent. A pleasant, low key place...

Wanted an early bite today, so stopped in. Was surprised to find the place a little quiet. Buffalo Shrimp caught my eye the day before. So, I ordered Shrimp and the Crab Balls. Shrimp was flared so it made it difficult to eat. Texture was good and I liked the flavor. Crab Balls were ok. They had a fishy smell which surprised me. The staff can be more interactive and maybe this would have changed my mind about this place, they just made me feel like I was an interruption to their day. I have to say I am not running back to eat the rest of my dinner here.

We were walking down St George Street in St Augustine and stopped in the Florida Cracker Cafe for a quick bite to eat. Very friendly staff. Found out Cracker meant the original pioneers of Florida. We had their Rice and Beans that was really hit the spot and fried Clam Strips and they were good.

Nothing to write home about. Bar is next to staff talking about personal problems. When we came in no one was here. We got 2 for 1 beer and order of gator tail. Gator wasn't to shabby but wasn't the best either. Good deals but empty dining room. Maybe cause they are chatting it up behind the bar I dunno.

This is a great place for the outside seating and music. It is a tourist trap menu. The food is average at best. Don't waste your money on eating there.

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Service was a little off, we had a party of 8 and they didn't hide that they were annoyed about it. The food was great, most got burgers, which were huge. I had the cracker fish sandwich, delicious. The hummus was good, spicy crab dip wasn't spicy at all, but still good. The homemade chips are a must.

We always take our guests here when they visit us in Palm Coast FL where we live. St. Augustine is a favorite place to show our friends old Florida and US History. The Florida Cracker Cafe always serves fresh, hot (if you order hot) meals with ample portions nicely presented and prepared to order. It is not fine cuisine, just plain old good eating that you can count on. The menu has great variety with something for everyone and all of it is good. The prices are fair for what you get and the service is usually very friendly and good as well. Their outdoor seating area is much quieter and nicer than the indoor area if you want to relax and enjoy conversation. The inside is very neighborhood pub like, clean and cheerful but a bit noisy. Check it out. At the very least, you will enjoy an good meal and it's possible you may find something you really like a lot, like the blackened fish sandwich with homemade potato chips. Yep, it's good every time.

GOOD PLACE TO EAT My family and I stopped to eat here as we were touring one day. The food was great but the service was outstanding! The hostess and our waitress were both extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. We loved the setting in the heart of the old city. It was a very pleasant experience and we would highly recommend anyone eating at this wonderful establishment!

You would figure a restaurant would want a crew of 10+ people to go there and eat... right? Obviously, Florida Cracker Cafe doesn't think that. We had a group of 10+ that came here. Granted, we didn't call ahead and give them a heads up, but we were able to fit on one of the picnic tables outside (we were a little scrunched up, but it was OK.) I should have known that trouble was brewing when the watiress let my empty Diet Coke sit for over ten minutes before refilling it. Once the food came out, I had to request more fries, since the ones that originally came out were cold. How this happened, I'm not exactly sure, since 7 or so of us ordered fries. After that, my friend who ordered a salad had to wait over five minutes before she got silverware. We had to flag down a server for that also. The food was OK, nothing to rave about. Overall, a very lackluster experience. I will not ever be coming back. FCC may be good for small groups, but not for large parties.

We came here with friends who had been here before and it was NOT good. We love seafood and are not snobs.. I mean who can screw up coconut shrimp or grilled shrimp and boiled grits? The grits were cold, flavorless and were soupy. The coconut shrimp was 99% stuffing with NO flavor and the homemade potato chips were broken and cold.. Tasted like they were Made this am and scraped from the bottom. We will eat anywhere and love finding new eats... But here... Never again. We sent the shrimp and grits back and before we could say the why the waitress asked "bc it's undercooked?" Really? Red flag. Then we re ordered the po boy and trod to cancel it bc everyone's meals were Terrible and she tried saying it was "too late" I think not. We ended up not eating anything and left. Do not eat here.

My fiance and I stumbeled into this restaurant when we were doing the tourist tumble down George St on Memorial Day. We chose to sit inside, because it was so hot, but the patio looked shaded and welcoming. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The dining room was packed, but we felt very well taken care of. I ordered a draft beer (had to in that FL heat) and crabcakes. They were great. The flavor was delicious and they were just the right consistancy, not too mushy, not too dry. My fiance had the Minorcan Chowder, which he said was very good. He also had the Shrimp Po'Boy which he said was amazing. We both had fries on the side and agreed they were some of the best we've had in a while, crispy and not too greasy. Prices were fair for the tourist location. Love this place and will definately go back.

We traveled to St. Augustine this past weekend and decided to dine at this restaurant for lunch based on their participation in the restaurant.com program. We ordered fried green tomatoes, clam chowder, beer, and crab dip to start off with. Before I get into the ordeal, I will give you a brief food review - the tomatoes were too spicy, and the sauce that came with them tasted fishy (odd). The clam chowder was extremely fishy as well, wasn't very hot, and wasn't served with CRACKERS (ironic, considering the name of the restaurant). The fish dip and homemade potato chips were tasty, however. After ordering (and consuming much of) our appetizers, I presented our server with the digital restaurant.com certificate ($25 off of a purchase of $37.50+) before ordering our entrees. She quickly told me that they only accept these during dinner. I had reviewed the terms and conditions for the restaurant several times before purchasing (for $10), and explained to her that this was NOT one of the stipulations. The only stipulations were as follows: "Minimum purchase of $37.50. 18% gratuity added prior to discount when full table service provided. " The program is very specific about the rules/regulations for each restaurant that participates, so I always make sure to read thoroughly before purchasing the certificates, as they often aren't valid on certain days, times, during holidays, etc. I asked for a manager, certain that they must have simply changed from their old rules to newer ones that allow for lunch use. She brought over the manager, Anthony, who brought out a hard copy of an old certificate from January (which DID note that it was only valid during dinner - the terms and conditions were entirely different than the one that I purchased) and tried to say that the digital certificate must not have been displaying all of the terms and conditions. I explained that even if this was the case (which I know is not even possible), that this wasn't my fault, and asked that they honor it anyway. He was downright unapologetic, unkind, and unwavering. He went on to say that " restaurant.com is actually just printing certificates without our permission. We no longer have a contract with them. However, we will honor it during dinner if you want to come back. The owner just won't let me take it during lunch." We already had dinner plans so I declined and again asked him to honor it since we were ordering well over $37.50, which he again refused to do. So on that note, I then refused to pay for the appetizers/drinks we had ordered (over $20 worth), and told him that we were leaving. We tipped our server and had lunch elsewhere. Printing the certificates without your permission? ABSOLUTE HOGWASH. Chances are that the owner decided to begin honoring these during lunch and didn't inform his/her staff. No matter what the situation, I was following the stipulations of MY purchased certificate... whatever happened to making things right for the customer? In the end, they ate the cost of our beer/appetizers (Around $22), and lost out on a $50 check plus 20%+ gratuity for the server. The following afternoon, I was behind the restaurant's patio at the public restroom, waiting outside for my girlfriend to come out, and I witnessed the very same server refuse to honor a PRINTED certificate for a party of four. They left their drinks and menus on the table and walked off the patio. GOOD JOB, you doofus of a restaurant. You lost easily $100+ revenue because you wanted to play politics over a misprint? You're OBVIOUSLY in the business of making a profit! Thanks for the free app's and beer. We will NEVER dine with you again -- I'm sure that party of four won't either. Rock on!

I've been here many times over the years and the service can't be beat. We were there right at lunch and it was pretty busy but they had enough staff to handle it just fine. Our glasses were never empty and the food was excellent. Great selection of beer on tap and in bottles. I honestly could say a bad thing about then from any of my times visiting and this last one is no exception. Keep doing what you're doing there I think you have it right. Nice inside and outside dining as a side note.

I had pictures I gotta find em and post but it was decent, I would not try again. The fruit is out of a can! the veggies and sides are child size like the gator is chopped to small the fish plate to small not bad tasting but not worth the expense.

Not sure why this place is rated to highly... I've been here twice for lunch and had a burger each time. Each time the thing was so dry I had to take a drink of soda with each bite just to be able to chew it. The lettuce once was brown, and tomato was soggy like it was chopped 7 days ago and sitting in a container waiting for my dissapointment. Maybe I just need to try something else on the menu, but I gave them a second chance with the burger and was dissapointed more than most Jaguar fans are with their team, so why waste my money hoping something else on their menu is actually good? The service isn't even that great. The second time when I explained the dry burger issue with the waitress she just said, "Sorry bout that" and handed me my check... I work in customer service, and when your customer explains something they are not happy about, that's your chance to win them over. Not just a "Thanks for your money sucker, now go F yourself" type response...

We visit this restaurant each time we visit St. Augustine which is at least a couple of times a year. I always have the Cracker Cafe Fish Sandwich which is absolutely delicious and the New England Clam Chowder that is definitely homemade. It has huge pieces of clams and is less creamer than the canned variety. It came out pipping hot which is how I LOVE my soup. This is the only place that my husband does not have to ask for crackers with his soup. My husband orders the clam strips with fries and never has any complaints. The service was wonderful. We had our drinks and soups within just a few minutes and our meals as soon as we finished our soup. A nice dinner out with my husband. The only thing lacking is some live music. Look for the dinner coupon in the local coupon books. If you forgot yours, go in the Savannah Sweets store that is connected to the restaurant and grab one of the red trolley map books for the coupon.

I ate at a variety of places while on Vacation in St. Augustine and unfortunately, Florida Cracker Cafe was the worst of them. Now, that doesn't mean it was awful. It's probably more fair to say, it was just ok. The service was quite slow but friendly, as we waited nearly 15 minutes to have our order taken. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was fair. It did come with a lot of shrimp but the grits tasted like they may have been instant. The price though, I would say is pretty fair for what you get. Nothing fancy, it's not going to blow you away. It's just an ok place to eat.

The very very best food i have ever had - the cheesy grits ... i had the aioli tuna , my husband had the shrimp and sausage pilau which i loved lol , we took turns eatting off of each others plates !!!! our server was a young man who was right on when ever we needed a refill on our drinks .. i cant stress how good the cheesy grits were, they were not what i was expecting when i ordered them, they transformed them into a flavorful wonder !!!

The food just isn't that good. No finesse at all. They do the basics, get it off the grill but without anything special. I think they cater to the tourists. The folks that aren't going to generate repeat business. However, some of the entertainment they have is excellent. The outside patio, listening to someone like Lonesome Bert on Wednesdays, drinking a cold one, with an ok meal works just fine. We'll go back to listen to the acts, but not worth more than 2 stars.

After having some time to digest, I can honestly say this is not the place it once was. I had had my first encounter with the cracker cafe about six years ago on a family trip and fell in love with their crab-stuffed flounder. I have recommended this place to anyone willing to listen, but today I was faced with a bitter reality. My friend and I had been driving up from Miami since 6 am and as soon as we left our baggage in the hotel we sprinted for the Cracker. I was incredibly excited. We sat down in a small table near a window and the waitress took our drink order. She soon came back for our lunch order and I asked for crabcakes and my friend for fried alligator and conch fritters. When our order was ready it was plopped down on our table and the waitress rolled her eyes at my friend. The food was terrible, granted neither of us have anything else to compare gator and conch to but not even my crabcakes were decent. The waitress also split our bill without asking us and when it was time to pay she ripped my friends credit card out of her hand. I will never recommend this place again, and I appologize to friends and family I may have caused a stomach ache to.

I'm so upset that I didn't see the review for the restaurant next store before we sat down and ordered. The food was edible..period..We ordered the blue crab dip and crackers..it actually came with cracker packets..seriously..also tried a pitcher of sangria..not worth $15...

a-okay. stopped here for lunch with my family on our first day in st. augustine upon a recommendation from our hotel staff, and was immediately a huge fan of the light and breezy decor. i wish i was as crazy about the food! our waitress was nice and attentive, but talked at the speed of sound and kind of made the whole ordering experience seem rushed. i got the catfish po'boy, which came with a side (i chose pasta salad). both were just fine, but nothing to write home about. the catifish could have been more flavorful, and i've definitely had better. i'd probably go there again for a casual lunch, but it was a pretty forgettable experience altogether!

Had the avocado club sandwich and the pasta salad side. Avocado was hard, as it was not ripe. Would have been much better with a ripe avocado.

We went here with a restaurant.com coupon, only to find out they wouldn't accept it (the fine print said "dinner only" and we went for lunch, so I don't fault them for that, of course). So it started off on a sour note, since we thought we'd be paying much less than full price. Nonetheless, the meals were mostly in the $9 to $11 range, so it didn't break the bank. Mostly sandwiches for lunch here, but some decent specials as well. I had the blackened tilapia sandwich, which was underwhelming -- the fish was tasty and fresh enough, but wanting it blackened, I must say the flavor was hardly much to speak of. Certainly not spicy, and I would dare say it didn't taste much different than broiled. My wife had one of the specials - spicy broiled shrimp over ceaser salad. The shrimp were pretty good - spicy, unlike the blackened fish. Mom had a burger (I think?) and enjoyed it. My son also had a burger, with fries. I tasted both, and the fries were great - that kid of rough edged fries that are kinda seasoned, extra crispy. The burger was also pretty tasty, and the portion was a good size for a kids meal -- I think the price on that was about $5.95 Mom says the coffee was really good. Although the waitress did forget to bring it throughout the entire meal, and was hard to catch. She was quite friendly though overall. They serve dinner after 5 pm as well - I didn't see the menu, but I'd say this is a better option for lunch anyway. Just a hunch. Plenty of outdoor covered patio seating during the warmer months too.

Came upon this place when I was walking around being a tourist in St. Augustine. Looked nice and so I gave it a try. Staff was very friendly. It looked nice and modern inside - found out they just reopened after a fire. I tried the Shrimp Po boy sandwich and it was delish. Came with Slaw and a side of your choice. I got fries. Very good. Would go back again for sure.

Had the shrimp Po boy where was the shrimp? Man you should rename it bread an cheese Po boy. 6 tiny shrimp smothered in cheese and bread. For 10 bucks I felt ripped off. The fries on my wife's entree were good and her shrimp was decent portion size and tasty.

This food was below average. If you like everything deep fried then this might be the place for you, but I did not enjoy it. The 'blue crab' crab cake was awful, it looked like minced fish and I couldn't see or taste blue crab at all. The only redeeming factors are the lovely patio, the adorable neighborhood cat and it seems like the may have good music some evenings. I would not recommend the food though. Unfortunately the wait staff was hit or miss. Nice enough, but not great.

The service was excellent. Our server was super friendly and helpful. I had a Cobb salad, and it was tasty. My daughter enjoyed her pb&j. The location is great for a bite to eat during shopping and site seeing. Prices seemed a little high for what we got, but not outrageous.

Right in the heart of St. Augustine historic district on St. George street. Fries were great as were the Po'boys.

A solid 3.5 star establishment. We ordered a fried seafood feast dish that included shrimp, fish, clams, crabcakes and two sides. We chose salad (with a really yummy avocado dressing) and cole slaw (nothing special and very small portion). We were not able to finish the fried food, but it was prepared well and just what we expected. The sangria was good. The chocolate pudding cake was ok. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We used a coupon from restaurant.com to save $25 off a $35 purchase. Not bad!

Great atmosphere, cheap beer, average food. Portions were large; we'd split a lunch if we went again. Mostly fried offerings. In general, good bargains to be had.

Good, not great... I had the Shrimp Po Boy and loved it.. It seemed like all the sides were not made in house however. Drinks were refilled quickly, and the staff was VERY friendly. I would definitely go again!

Slow service ... Cesar salad used yesterday's greens, sparse dressing and an all around poorly prepared salad. How can you ruin a simple salad? My wife had a spicy chicken sandwich, the coating on the chicken was burned and fell off the chicken.

Weren't a lot of reviews on St. Augustine restaurants, so took a chance on this place as we didn't feel like having an expensive or fancy meal. I got a side salad with my entree, which was made just as I like it. It had plenty of tomatoes, red onion, croutons, and even some sprouts. I originally got the Creamy Italian but didn't like it and changed to Sesame Vinagrette, which was really good. I wish the plate was bigger, as the salad kept falling off the plate as I ate it. I am not a big seafood person, so I got the hamburger upon recommendation by the waitress. It surprised me, as it was a really good burger. Unfortunately, the bun was not toasted, which always boggles my mind. Are there people who actually like a hamburger bun better not toasted? When they don't toast it, it makes me think they are lazy or don't really care about their burger. Maybe it is just a beach thing. If they toasted and buttered the bun it would of been a pretty awesome burger. I also got the roasted red potatoes as a side item, which had too much rosemary for me ( I don't really like rosemary though), but they were okay for what they were. My companions got the clam chowder, which was okay, probably microwaved, and some fried shrimp and fries. They said the shrimp was pretty good and the fries were also better than average. They also had a grilled cheese sandwich, which was fine. The prices were okay, probably a little higher than normal because of the tourist aspect, but reasonable for the quality of food. The waitress was attentive and friendly and did a excellent job.

Food was alright but service wasn't great. Cobb salad was good. Shrimp were small.

for several years i have gone to st augustine for 2 reasons only....to buy hot sauce and to eat a shrimp po' boy at cracker cafe. it is, by far, the absolute best sandwich anywhere. generous portion of fried shrimp, tomato, onion, lettuce and homemade remoullaird sauce that is great. my companion gets a burger with mushrooms, cheese and says it's always good. and...if you get a chance to try cheesy grits as a side, do it! delicsh. service is always friendly and eficient.

George St.

Lived in St Augustine for almost a year and always walk by but never tried. Came in today on the holiday and was pleasantly surprised. We were seated very quickly and our waiter was at the table in 2-3 minutes. Drinks were also filled very fast and our order was taken. I started with the New England Clam Chowder. It was wonderful! Every bite had clams. Lunch was a 1/2 pound angus burger with fries while my fiancé had an oyster po' boy. Our food came out quickly and was cooked as we wanted it. The fries were fantastic. She had the homemade chips which made me wish I had gotten them! This place was great and we will be back!

(5)Bryan T.
Good service, good food, on the ball with drink refills. Eat inside in the A/C or out on the patio. Enjoyed the gator bits and the Super Cracker burger though I would recommend adding mayo.
(5)Brian M.
After walking around all day, this was a really good place to eat. We ordered the Philly cheese and enjoyed thoroughly. If we lived here, this would definitely be a family favorite.
(5)Marisa T.
one word:AMAZING! :)
(5)Ric H.
Don't waste your time or money here. Food us just okay, and short on options. Service is good, but not what we expected.
(2)CG V.
Typical American cuisine here. They have a nice little outdoor area, but on the day we went, it was a bit too chilly for us Miami folks. The house salad is yummy minus the dressing.. Ask for oil and vinegar instead. Nice and yummy decent food.
(3)Gagan G.
Nothing special at this place. The service was quick and the waitress was nice too. The food was ok ( only one or two vegetarian options). The hot sauce here had anchovies in it. The waitress failed to mention it even though we said we wanted to get something vegan.
(2)Maria M.
(3)Elizabeth S.
Great place. Right in old city area within walking distance of everything. Great dog friendly patio. Food was fresh and prompt and husband reports the oysters were great and the local ale was too. And the waiter knew something about beer as well. My wrap was perfect and I want the recipe for the beans.
(5)Bennie R.
(1)Monica B.
(3)Tera L.
Nice but slow service, they stay busy. And the table was dirty. But the food was good, fried tomatoes delicious. I recommend for lunch but not dinner.
(3)E S.
(5)Suze F.
(4)J L.
Do not get any of the burgers. They are not fresh. They are the fast food thin kind you can get at Walmart. They are 1/3lb Angus so you think they are thick but they are just frisbee size. The waitress was nice and visited the table often so I have no complaints about the staff.
(2)Christopher D.
Great customer service , food came very quick. food was good. decent prices for the middle of tourist alley in st augustine. would try again.
(4)William L.
(4)Keely P.
Yummmmm!!
(3)Dawn R.
The gator appetizer was really good, especially with the marmalade sauce. Shrimp and grits was good, stuffed flouder special was very good. Service was great. All in all, a very good dining experience. Would return without hesitation.
(4)N. F.
Food was delicious & service was decent. The gator tail is amazing, only thing I didn't like was how small the portion of gator was . Will be returning my next trip to St. Augustine.
(4)Kelly K.
(2)Brandon T.
(2)Mike W.
My friend and I dined here in good part because despite being after eight in the evening, we could not get into our beloved Floridian without at least a twenty-five minute wait. The Florida Cracker Café could get us right in, however, and we were hungry. From the location and atmosphere, it's clear they depend mainly on the downtown tourist trade for their business and they were pretty busy, too. The service however was superb and also, as we were there around closing time, I was very impressed at the level of detail the mainly young staff were taking in cleaning every possible surface. There may well be operating theatres not as clean as this restaurant. The food however, was not as impressive to me. My friend said his steak was quite good, however, we both found the red beans and rice very much lacking and my cheese grits were simply bland. I'd ordered a seperate plate of cornbread at additional cost and three of the five muffins served were burnt and not very good though two were fine. My shrimp po'boy sandwich was pretty good and certainly an ample portion. The substandard grits, red beans, and cornbread drop this down to the three-star level. These are easy, simple, dishes to make and the restaurant should be able to pull them off with ease. The seafood-heavy menu also isn't really "cracker" and again, the focus seems to be quickly pleasing tourists. I guess they're ok at what they do, but could be much better.
(3)Eddie M.
(1)Cecelia B.
(4)Peter C.
Me and my wife ordered the spinach salad with grilled shrimp I did not realize My salad was loaded with a whole carrot and I had to pull the tails off my shrimp by myself after digging through my salad to find them all
(3)Elisse B.
The alligator and conch appetizers were good but the fish sandwich had no flavor and neither did the pasta salad nor the cucumber salad that came with it. The key lime pie was also not the greatest and the cool whip topping really ruined it for me. The servers seemed nice enough though.
(2)Jennifer O.
a quick spot to grab lunch. no bows or whistles just a good filling meal. average priced. great service and attention.
(3)Joshua T.
Nothing really to write home about. I was interest to try this place but the Shrimp Po'Boy only had a hand full of shrimp and the pasta salad was a little on the dry side for my taste. Service was good and prompt.
(3)Pietro A.
Nothing special, sorry. Average food and quite expensive for what it is... There are plenty better options in the area.
(2)Nati Z.
(1)Albert P.
Great place to eat gator tail and drink beer. Very busy place in the heart of St. Augustine.
(4)Andrew M.
Sorry no photo, had the crab cakes. If you get anything with crab make sure to ask for the Cajun remoulade sauce. And the homemade chips were nice too.
(5)Matt S.
(3)Julie F.
(2)Kimberly A.
(4)John D.
(3)Timothy O.
(2)Gary R.
Very goad food. Reasonable price Good portions, good service. Highly recommend a stop here.
(5)Pamela S.
(4)Chris L.
(3)Scott T.
This is a great place for the outside seating and music. It is a tourist trap menu. The food is average at best. Don't waste your money on eating there.
(1)Thomas C.
(3)Scott A.
(4)Vickie H.
(4)George L.
Service was fast. Food was ok.
(3)Patrick S.
(1)Danielle M.
(1)Amanda W.

Rock on!
(1)Paul R.
(5)Michael P.
Decent food. Mediocre service. High prices. Small beers.
(3)Jitan K.
I frequent this spot in downtown St. Augustine. All the food is fresh and made to order. Being in the heart of a touristy spot you can expect high prices.
(4)Derrick S.
I had pictures I gotta find em and post but it was decent, I would not try again. The fruit is out of a can! the veggies and sides are child size like the gator is chopped to small the fish plate to small not bad tasting but not worth the expense.
(2)Tom J.

Fun place for a bite. Good quality food, good presentation and good looking staff. Great atmosphere and fast with getting food out. Sweet tea is perfect everytime. Good $$ savings & location (downtown St. Aug.) The Fuel Production Crew is well fed everytime we go.

I love this place. I get the cucumber salad everytime!
